Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 in the Olympic competition. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi later the Romanian gymnastics coach at the time she was six years old. The first time she competed was at the national junior championships in which she finished 13th in the year 1969. In 1970, she won. The first time she competed in an international event that was a preolympics junior competition that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she took home three gold medals. And in 1973 and 1975, she was awarded the All-around Junior Champion. She won four gold and one silver medals at her debut competition as a senior, held in 1975. It was the first time she had competed as an adult. In 1976, she became the first person in the world to use a backwards-double salto for a dismount off the parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career in the world of entertainment began in her teens, when she began doing figure skating with her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 at Chicago Illinois US. Carol was a part of the entertainment business in her teens. When she was a child she started her career as an ice skater with Nina Wayne in the travelling show of entertainment Ice Capades. These shows included the ice skating of which was performed to music from the stage.
